Consent to Location Information Terms

If you agree to the location information terms, you can use the Link soft location-based services, which include receiving advertising information based on your location.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms and conditions aim to outline the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Link soft Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company") and personal location information subjects in relation to the location information business or location-based service business provided by the company, as well as other necessary details.

Article 2 (Rules Outside of Terms)

Matters not specified in these terms are subject to the Act on Protection and Use of Location Information, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, the Telecommunications Basic Act, the Telecommunications Business Act, and other relevant laws, along with the company's terms of use and privacy policy, as well as any guidelines separately established by the company.

Article 3 (Service Content and Fees)

① The company collects location information directly or receives location information from a location-based service provider or telecommunications company to offer location-based services as follows.


1. Link Coach Timeline service: The location information of individuals or mobile devices included in posts is stored with the posts.

2. Search result services using location information: When a search is requested or location information of individuals or mobile devices is provided, search results and nearby results (restaurants, nearby businesses, transportation, etc.) using this location information are presented.

3. Find and make friends using location information: Helps you find or recommend friends using your current location.

4. Exchange contacts: Allows you to exchange contacts with friends using location information.

5. Providing advertising information using user location: During search results or other service usage, offers advertisements by using the location of individuals or mobile devices.

6. User protection and prevention of misuse: Blocks abnormal service usage attempts by unauthorized entities through the location of individuals or mobile devices.

7. Sharing location information: Shares the location information of individuals or mobile devices with acquaintances or third parties designated by the user for purposes like safe returning home.

8. Providing living convenience services like directions: Offers optimal routes on a map including traffic information and directions, and provides various driving and living convenience services such as finding nearby facilities, news/weather updates, and emergency rescue services.


② The usage fees for the location-based services in paragraph 1 are free.

Article 4 (Rights of Personal Location Information Subject)

① The subject of personal location information can withhold consent to certain aspects of the collection of personal location information, terms of use, or purposes of use and provision of personal location information, as well as the scope of recipients and certain parts of location-based services.

② The subject of personal location information can withdraw all or part of their consent to the collection, use, and provision of their personal location information.

③ The subject of personal location information can request a temporary suspension of the collection, use, and provision of their personal location information at any time. In this case, the company will not refuse the request and is equipped with the technical means to do so.

④ The subject of personal location information can request to view or be notified of the following materials from the company and, in the case of errors, can request corrections. In this case, the company will not unreasonably refuse the request.


1. Confirmation materials regarding the collection, use, and provision of location information for the subject of personal location information

2. Reasons and details for providing the personal location information of the subject to third parties under laws related to the protection and use of location information or other legal regulations


⑤ If the subject of personal location information withdraws all or part of their consent, the company will immediately destroy the collected personal location information and confirmation materials related to the collection, use, and provision of location information. However, if only part of the consent is withdrawn, this applies only to the corresponding part of the personal location information and confirmation materials.

⑥ The subject of personal location information can exercise their rights from paragraphs 1 through 4 by using the contact information provided in Article 13 of these terms to request from the company.

Article 5 (Rights of the Legal Guardian)

① The company must obtain consent from both children under the age of 14 and their legal guardians when it wants to collect, use, or provide personal location information from children under the age of 14.

② Legal guardians can exercise rights such as consent reservation, consent withdrawal, temporary suspension, and the right to request access and notification, if they agree to the collection, use, and provision of personal location information of children under the age of 14.

Article 6 (Reasons for Retaining and Retention Period of Location Information Usage and Provision Records)

In accordance with Article 16, Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the company automatically records and retains for more than six months any confirmation of the collection, use, and provision of personal location information on the location information system.

Article 7 (Change and Suspension of Service)

① If the company cannot maintain the service due to changes in the location information provider's policy, or due to other various circumstances or legal obstacles, it may restrict, change, or suspend all or part of the service.

② In the case of service interruption as per paragraph 1, the company will notify the internet in advance or inform the individual location information subject.

Article 8 (Immediate notification when personal location information is provided to third parties)

① The company does not provide the personal location information of the individual without their consent to a third party. If offering services to a third party, the recipient and purpose of the information will be notified and consented to by the individual beforehand.

② When the company provides personal location information to a third party designated by the individual, it immediately informs the individual through the communication device used to collect the location information, specifying who receives it, the provision date and time, and the purpose.

③ However, in the following cases, notification is made through a communication device or email address previously designated by the individual.

1. When the communication device used to collect personal location information does not have the capability to receive text, voice, or video messages.

2. When the individual has requested in advance that the notification be sent to a communication device or email address other than the one used to collect the location information.

Article 8 (Immediate notification when personal location information is provided to third parties)

① The company does not provide the personal location information of the individual without their consent to a third party. If offering services to a third party, the recipient and purpose of the information will be notified and consented to by the individual beforehand.

② When the company provides personal location information to a third party designated by the individual, it immediately informs the individual through the communication device used to collect the location information, specifying who receives it, the provision date and time, and the purpose.

③ However, in the following cases, notification is made through a communication device or email address previously designated by the individual.

1. When the communication device used to collect personal location information does not have the capability to receive text, voice, or video messages.

2. When the individual has requested in advance that the notification be sent to a communication device or email address other than the one used to collect the location information.

Article 9 (Rights of Guardians of Children Under 8)

① The company considers it as the individual's consent if the guardian of a person (hereinafter referred to as "children under 8") who falls under any of the following cases agrees to the use or provision of personal location information to protect the life or body of children under 8.

1. Children under 8

2. Incapacitated persons

3. Persons with mental disabilities as stipulated in Article 2, Paragraph 2, Subparagraph 2 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, who fall under the category of persons with severe disabilities as defined by Article 2, Subparagraph 2 of the Act on the Employment Promotion and Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (limited to those who have registered as disabled according to Article 29 of the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities Act).

② To consent to the use or provision of personal location information for the protection of the life or body of children under 8, the guardian must submit a written agreement with documentation proving their guardianship to the company.

③ If the guardian consents to the use or provision of personal location information for children under 8, they can exercise all the rights of the personal location information subject.

Article 10 (Damages)

If the individual whose location information is at stake suffers damages due to the company's violation of Articles 15 to 26 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, they can claim compensation from the company. In this case, the company cannot be exempt from liability unless it proves there was no intention or negligence.

Article 11 (Resolution of Disputes)

① If there is a dispute related to location information that cannot be resolved through negotiation between the company and the individual location information subject, the company may apply for arbitration to the Korea Communications Commission.

② In case a dispute related to location information cannot be settled through negotiation between the company or the personal location information subject, it is possible to apply for mediation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

Addendum

Article 1: Effective Date

The previous terms that have been effective since July 19, 2021, are replaced by these terms, and these terms are effective from July 21, 2021.
